How it works


We're sure you'll love your new Volkswagen ID. model, however if it's not right for you, you can return your car between 80 to 100 days after your handover. Once it's been returned, you'll receive a refund minus reasonable costs like damage, modification repairs, depreciation, wall box charges and finance deductions⁠⁠.

If between 80-100 days from handover, and the customer isn’t confident or happy that the ID. is suitable for them, they can return the car. We hope the majority will discover that the ID. is perfect for their requirements, but if it doesn’t suit their lifestyle or needs, they can return it subject to the T&Cs of the offer.

​​​​​​​Only qualifying customers purchasing their vehicle via cash or PCP with Volkswagen Financial services can avail of this scheme. All other customers are excluded. 

  • Cash purchases: Retailers refund the amount paid by the customer for their ID. less 5% of Recommended On the Road price of the vehicle for fair wear and tear and depreciation
  • VWFS PCP purchases: Retailer refunds the amount paid up to date (deposit and monthly payments) by the customer for their ID. less 5% of the Recommended On the Road price of the vehicle for fair wear and tear and depreciation
  • Volkswagen Wallbox offer: Any customers who have availed of the Volkswagen wallbox offer will incur a charge of €600 (inclusive of VAT) in the event of a refund request for the vehicle under ID. Promise

Retailer will inspect the vehicle for any damage and excess mileage(refer to Vehicle Leasing Association of Ireland Fair Wear & Tear Guide). Vehicle damages beyond fair wear and tear will disqualify the customer from returning the vehicle.

If a customer purchases vehicle accessories, we will not refund the cost of these and may not be able to return them to the customer if they cannot be removed without causing damage to the vehicle. This will be set out in the customer terms and conditions.

This will need to be a new separate contract and agreement (if financed with VWFS).
